Only a named tier-1 list is off limits, and the platform enforces it rather than failing the trader: “TradeDay will auto-liquidate all open positions 2 minutes before TradeDay's tier 1 economic data releases, and open markets back up to trade 2 minutes after these releases” and “TradeDay does not fail you for accidentally trading tier 1 economic data releases” — but “traders found to be ignoring these guidelines and abusing the policy will lose their account”. Tier 1 is defined as FOMC minutes and the FOMC rate decision (all products, 1:00 PM CT), US CPI and Non-Farm Payrolls (all products, 7:30 AM CT), EIA crude oil inventories (oil contracts only, 9:30/10:00 AM CT), EIA natural gas inventories (gas contracts only, 9:30 AM CT) and crop production reports (ags only, 11:00 AM CT). Profits earned in breach are forfeited on a lost funded account: “All profits from trading tier 1 data releases, trading in breach of our permitted times” are excluded from the payout of a closed account.

No weekend-specific rule is published; it follows from the absolute daily-close rule, which admits no exception for a Friday: “Exit all positions 10 minutes before the close. No holding positions when the market closes”, with “TradeDay will auto-liquidate all open positions 10 minutes before the daily market close”.

A trader’s own automation is allowed on supported platforms, bought automation is not, and there is no API: “To use an automated trading system, you must use one of the platforms we support: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView, Jigsaw and Quantower”, “TradeDay does not expose the Tradovate API to allow traders to connect automated trading systems directly”, and “Algos and Bots purchased from a third party and employed by the trader are forbidden. If multiple users are making the same trades, then all the accounts will be shut down, and the users suspended”. The prohibited-practices list repeats it and adds that “TradeDay does not evaluate systems you have purchased from third parties”.

Allowed only into TradeDay accounts and only between Funded Sim accounts, never across the sim/live line: “We now support multiple accounts, so you’re welcome to use copy trading across our evaluations or funded accounts” and “you can use a copy trader to copy trades from your personal account elsewhere into your TradeDay account”, but “Funded Live and Funded Sim accounts must be traded separately. You cannot trade them simultaneously, and copy trading between these accounts is not possible”, with “You may trade or copy trade between 2 or 3 Funded Sim accounts only”. Copying another person’s trades is not addressed as copy trading but is caught by the bot rule (“If multiple users are making the same trades, then all the accounts will be shut down”). TradeDay publishes discount codes for three third-party copiers (Tradesyncer, Flowbots Replikanto, Expert Trading Programmers).

Banned in both the multiple-accounts article and the prohibited-practices list, with the same cross-account definition: “Hedging is prohibited at TradeDay (the practice of simultaneously going long in one account and short in another account for the same product). Users caught hedging will be offboarded and suspended, and will forfeit all profits in funded accounts”. The prohibited-practices list separately bans “simultaneously entering into opposite positions” performed “alone or in concert with any other persons, including between connected accounts or accounts held with different TradeDay parties”.

VPS is barred outright and IP masking must be switched off on demand: “TradeDay does not allow the use of virtual private servers (VPS)” and “Traders using VPNs, or any software designed to mask the IP address location (Including Apple’s Private Relay service or privacy extensions built into browsers) are required to switch off the service and trade from the address under which the account is registered”. The prohibited-practices list states it flatly as “Using a VPN or VPS to mask the location of the trading”. The check is triggered at three moments — moving to Funded Live, a payout request from a Quick Pay or Fast Pass Funded Sim, and the Quick Pay $10,000 gross-profit review — and requires a full comparable trading day from the registered location. “If you cannot comply with this request, we will shut down the account and suspend access to the platform”, with setup, activation and the passed-evaluation fee refunded but not failed evaluations or subscriptions.
